Purpose/Function

The hood is constructed with a large space between the front end of the hood and the engine to absorb an impact.
Construction

The hood stiffener positioned at the front end of the hood is shaped so that it collapses easily during an impact. In addition, there is an impact absorbing space which facilitates impact absorption.

1. Perform the front door glass preparation..

a. Inner garnish.
b. Front door trim.
c. Front door glass.

Hood Adjustment
Height Difference Adjustment
1. Verify that the height difference between the hood and the body is within
the specification.
Standard clearance
a: 2.7—6.9 mm {0.11—0.27 in}

Power Window Subswitch Inspection
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable..
2. Remove the power window subswitch..
3. Verify that the continuity between the power window subswitch terminals is
as indicated in the table.
If not as indicated in the table, replace the power window subswitch.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable..
2. Remove the following parts:
a. Seal board upper.
b. Front bumper.
c. Front combination light.
d. Set plate.
e. Energy-absorbing form.
f. Front under cover No.1.
g. Bumper stiffener lower.
3. Support the shroud panel using a jack.

Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Removal/Installation
CAUTION:
When replacing the CMP sensor, make sure there is no foreign material on
it such as metal shavings. If it is installed with foreign material, the sensor
output signal will malfunction resulting from fluctuation in magnetic flux and
cause a deterioration in engine control.
